Friday
Night
July 1st
Our
Dive-In Movie night will be
Friday night
July 1st,
(weather permitting*). The Dive-In Movie will start at
around 9:00 pm. The movie usually runs until around 11:00 pm.
Cost:
FREE to members! GUESTS
ARE WELCOME!! Normal guests rates apply for guests to Club Royal.
STORY:
One of the biggest box office hits of all time delivers the ultimate
encounter when mysterious and powerful aliens launch an all-out
invasion against the human race. The spectacle begins when massive
spaceships appear in Earth's skies. But wonder turns to terror as
the ships blast destructive beams of fire down on cities all over
the planet. Now the world's only hope lies with a determinded band
of survivors, uniting for one last strike against the invaders -
before it's the end of all mankind.
In Independence Day, a scientist played by
Jeff Goldblum once actually had a fistfight with a man (Bill
Pullman) who is now president of the United States. That same
president, late in the film, personally flies a jet fighter to
deliver a payload of missiles against an attack by
extraterrestrials. Independence Day is the kind of movie so
giddy with its own outrageousness that one doesn't even blink at
such howlers in the plot. Directed by Roland Emmerich,
Independence Day is a pastiche of conventions from flying-saucer
movies from the 1940s and 1950s, replete with icky monsters and
bizarre coincidences that create convenient shortcuts in the story.
(Such as the way the girlfriend of one of the film's heroes--played
by Will Smith--just happens to run across the president's injured
wife, who are then both rescued by Smith's character who somehow
runs across them in alien-ravaged Los Angeles County.) The movie is
just sheer fun, aided by a cast that knows how to balance the retro
requirements of the genre with a more contemporary feel. --Tom

get to know your neighbors and give back to your own community. Come
have some fun with us!
Club Royal Pool is an insured, not for profit,
private neighborhood pool.

How
About a Game of Horseshoes?
Check out our area for Horseshoes!!
An area becoming quite popular with the Dads.
Horseshoes is an outdoor game
played between two people (or two teams of two people) using four
horseshoes and two throwing targets (stakes) set in a sandbox area.
The game is played by the players alternating turns tossing
horseshoes at stakes in the ground, which are traditionally placed
40 feet apart.

Sign
In @ The Pool
Please sign in every time you come to
the pool. Members are always welcome to bring guests with a $3
guest fee. Remember, the honor system only works if we all
honor our systems.
Please
make sure you sign in every time you come to the pool.
On the top of the sign-in sheet, there will be a time recorded of
when the chemicals were added to
the pool. It is important for you to check that time before
getting in the pool. Chemicals get added twice everyday, once in
the morning (around 8:30am) and once at night(9-10pm). You will need
to wait an hour at the most before getting in the pool.
If
you have more than 5 guests per membership, then it is considered a
party and you will have to pay a $25 party fee plus $3 per guests.
If you have 10 or more guests, then it is considered a party that
will require a lifeguard. That includes a $25 party fee plus
$10/hr for the lifeguard and $3 per guest.
Thank you for your cooperation,
Membership Chair Deanna Squibb |
